At Manchego Dental, we believe that prevention is the BEST treatment to maintain a lifelong healthy mouth and body.  Whether you are a new or existing patient, our team will provide a thorough evaluation of your whole mouth (teeth, cheeks, tongue, gums, and lips) and surrounding area for a complete diagnosis, patient education, and treatment planning.  A “regular” teeth cleaning is normally recommended for our adult patients, but sometimes due to periodontal (gum) disease, a “deep” cleaning or referral to a periodontist is necessary.

For our younger patients, our team recommends the placement of dental sealants and fluoride varnish to help prevent caries (commonly known as cavities).  Fluoride varnish is recommended from the age of primary tooth eruption until about the age of 6.  Sealants are recommended on newly erupted and caries free permanent posterior molars.  These are the back teeth that will remain for the life of the patient and are responsible for chewing food.  Dental sealants or “fillers” will help prevent caries by sealing the irregular and deep fissures and crevices that are typical in these young teeth.
